OSTK Product Development: CGI 360 Video Automation Tool

Along with the Senior 3D Technical Artist, I created an automation tool to produce a 360-degree animated view of a product. All 360-spins showcased a product with consistent lighting, shadows, camera placement, and exposure and visually match product silo standards according to the 3D Style Guide.

In order to create 360 spins of a product, the in-house Silo Automation Tool was used to render individual silo images at 15-degree increments for a total of 46 individual product and shadow images that were then stitched together using a series of automation scripts within the 3D pipeline to produce a mp4 video file.

The addition of 360 content helped to increase customer confidence and reduce costly returns. Providing unique content to product pages helped to increase SEO and organic traffic and thus reduce marketing acquisition costs.
