Scandinavian Designs E-commerce Brand Launch

Position: Photography Director

Portfolio: Interline, Inc.

Industry: Furniture & Decor Retail

Year: 2014-2017

I was hired to create an in-house photo studio for Scandinavian Designs in order to eliminate the ongoing costly burden of outsourcing freelance talent. I started by developing a consistent visual brand identity for the company including standardizing studio setups, workflows, and style guides for e-commerce and marketing photography in order to ensure visual consistency.

I selected a portion of the largest Bay Area showroom as the location for the studio so that products could be ordered, assembled, photographed, and repurposed as showroom displays in order to eliminate the cost and waste of photo shoot samples. Day to day operations included scheduling photo shoots, managing assistants, ordering and maintaining equipment, and managing studio budgets.

The addition of in-house product photography made it possible for this 50 year old brick and mortar business to launch products into e-commerce across all individual brands.
